Workshops - action from conversation

An open and honest conversation is the best way to establish relationship, to create shared goals, and to move forward, supported, together. A conversation in which everyone’s views are respected, without judgement, where there is space for everyone to share. A conversation where collaboration yields sustainable action.

Here are the types of workshops we ran:

Bespoke Workshops
Some examples of workshops and trainings we created and facilitated for groups are group strategy development, team building, project planning, and defining and putting values into action.

Future Conversations
One of the guided series of conversations Surefoot to ran with charities, community groups, and organisations. Future Conversations enable people to explore their hopes, fears and needs for the next 5-20 years, exploring facts and feelings, and provide processes and information to grow the confidence and skills to shape the future positively.

Work That Reconnects
Our sessions, following the Work that Reconnects, for anyone and everyone, based on the books Chris Johnstone co-authored with the late Joanna Macy, focussed on Active Hope

Resilience Workshops
Our resilience workshops provide participants with the time and space to develop their personal resilience so they feel better, more confident and equipped to deal with and change difficult situations.

Mindful Consuming
In a friendly, curious, and mindful way we explored themes like energy and travel, food and stuff, but also resilience, self-compassion, speaking with others and activism.

Climate Justice
This workshop opened up conversations on the connection between colonialism and climate change and was developed in partnership with the Comparative Media Studies department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology through funding from the Priscilla King Gray Public Service Centre. The materials are free to use here.

Climate Conversations
Talking about climate change – whether it is a new topic or one you have been exploring for a while the conversations around this subject can be challenging, depressing, and even uplifting. We offered Climate Conversations based on a workshop we helped Scottish Government create.
